About us

The Highland Community Church was incorporated in July, 1966 by a group of people that felt there was a need for an independent, non-denominational, Bible believing church in this area. Through the years God has brought people our way that wanted to know Christ and grow in His grace. It’s been exciting to see God working in people’s lives. We visualize the church as a spiritual oasis. It’s a place where spiritually thirsty people come for a cool drink from the spring of God’s Word which provides the “living water” that Jesus spoke of in John chapter four.

We believe that it is through the study of God’s Word, the worship of Him in song, and the fellowship of believers that Christians are able to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ( 2 Peter 3:18 ) By God’s grace we are endeavoring to grow more and more into the likeness of Jesus Christ, the One who gave His life that we might have eternal life with Him.

Pastor Mike and his wife Katie have been here since January of 2017. They serve with an organization known as Village Missions which supplies pastoral leadership to independent, non-denominational churches in rural America and Canada. They have four children.
