Absalom 2 Samuel 13 Leviticus 18:11 “Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father's wife, born to your father; she is your sister.” Tamar's 4 reasons God's law – “wicked thing” Tamar – “disgrace" Amnon – “wicked fools” Better alternitive - Marriage   Lust turned to hatred (13:15) Deuteronomy 22:28-29 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.   Tension in the Palace!   *David never punished his son Amnon for his sin and Absalom never forgot that.   Absalom murdered Amnon (32b)   Absalom waited, but his father never came!   Sin that is not dealt with will fester and explode at a later date.   *No victory on the battle field {business} compensates for defeat at home.   God desires restoration not banishment.
