    Morning Service – Prayer #1
    Series: Prayer
Prayer #1 God is Relational Jeremiah. 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Be specific when we pray! Pray consistently with God's Word / Will Matthew 6:10 “Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” James 4:2b-3 …You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. PRAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE Matthew 17:19-20 “…so little faith. Nothing will be impossible for you.” 1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us–whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of him. Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Prayer is a faith statement of what you believe. Prayer is a spiritual exercise Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Exceptions 1) When you don't know how to pray Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. Eph. 6:18a And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests… 2) The “if” clause Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” PRAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE, AND BELIEVE WHAT YOU PRAY! 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight. Genesis 15:6 Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. “God, I truly believe that it's your will for….so I ask in faith believing that you will do it in your timing.” Lord teach me to live my life by faith - trusting in you alone. Teach me to see life bigger/clearer than I have seen it before. Teach me to see what you see Lord & to pray your will for me and for others. I pray in Jesus name, Amen
