Morning Service – Abstain from Sinful Desires
1 Peter 2:11-12 Abstain From A CHOICE! Live Good Lives The Goal Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Following the Steps of Jesus (21) Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Isaiah 53 Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Isaiah 53:5-6 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Morning Service – The Purified Life
1 Peter 1:22-2:3 Spiritual purification (22) Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Psalm 119:9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Trials refine faith Obedience to God's Word refines character! What is the visible results of this cleansing process? 1) A sincere Love of others (22b) Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers 1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 2) A desire/hunger for spiritual growth. Psalm 42:1-2 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? A) Salvation (1:23) Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Rom. 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. B) Spiritual Growth (2:2-3) 3) A repentance from sin (2:1) Five sins that would drive wedges between believers. “malice” wickedness “Deceit” “to catch with bait” Deliberate dishonesty! 1 John 1:8-9 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Obadiah 1:3-4 The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, 'Who can bring me down to the ground?' Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD. “hypocrisy” Putting on a show “”envy” Wanting what someone else has “slander” Speaking evil against someone Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. *God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called.*

Matthew 11:25-26 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. Matthew 16:17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 1 Corinthians 2:7-10 ..we declare God's wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived - the things God has prepared for those who love him"-- these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. Matthew 13:17 For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. 2. Morning Service – The Glory of God 2
The Glory of God (2) Exodus 33:19 I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Exodus 34:6-7 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet, he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.” Luke 6:36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. 1) It means we have an assured confidence in our future destiny Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. “Georgia Woman Kelly Gissendaner Sings 'Amazing Grace' During Execution” 2) It means to Love our neighbor Leviticus 19:18 'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD. Matt.5:43-48 1. Love our enemies 2 Pray for those who persecute us. Matthew 22:34-40 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” DEBT Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. SERVE Galatians 5:13-15 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. James 2:8-10 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. LOVE BEGINS AT HOME! *Marriages work when they are a place where the glory of God is exercised & lived out. Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Colossians 3:12-14 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

The Powerful Gospel Romans 1:8-16 The world had heard of their faith (1:8) Paul prayed for them (1:9-10) John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Paul desired to come and see them (11-13) 1) Mutual Encouragement 2) A spiritual harvest of souls This is not about what we can do for God, but what God can do through us! Three basic convictions/motivations (14-16) 1) He felt a sense of obligation to his world (14) A Spiritual Philanthropist Titus 3:3-6 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior 2) He was eager / ready to share with others (15) 3) He was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ (16) “the GOOD NEWS” Matthew 7:24-27 (page 972) Wise & Foolish man Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Isaiah 40:8-9 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever. You who bring good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!” John 20:21 …“Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
