    Morning Service – Divorce
    Series: Divorce
Divorce Matthew 19:1-12 Matthew 19:6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined (yoked) together, let no one separate.” 1 Corinthians 7:4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. I. First Question (19:3)   Jesus took them to the Beginning / Ideal / Master plan (4-6) 1 Corinthians 6:16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” (6) ONE Flesh II. Second Question (7) YOUR hearts were hard Malachi 2:10-16 “unfaithfulness”   Malachi 2:16 (NIV2011) “The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the LORD Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.   Exception Clause (19:9) “marital unfaithfulness” - porneia   1) Jesus doesn't say the person whose mate is unfaithful has to divorce that person 2) Though it addresses an immoral wife the same is true if the husband is unfaithful.   III. Third Question (Statement) (10) “better not to marry”   1 Corinthians 7:8-11 (NIV2011) Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

Morning Service – How Much Faith?
How Much Faith? Matt. 17:14-21   Principle # 1: God is in the process of preparing you for Heaven 2 Corinthians 3:18 And we all…being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. STORY Trinity Jameson Principle #2: There is a time for action and a time for listening/wait/learning. Before we can “do” something for God we must first learn to listen “to” God Principle # 3: Telling needs to be done in God's Timing One of the most important things the disciples had to learn was to live by FAITH! Romans 1:17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed–a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” 2 Corinthians 5:5-8 & 10 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose (Heaven) is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.   Story: (Matt. 17:14-20) Mark 9:18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.” “great faith” Roman centurion Canaanite woman What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Faith is believing in something that you are not presently seeing, feeling, touching SO firmly that you are willing to act upon it.   Stages of Faith   Saving Faith Eph. 2:8-9 Romans 3:22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile. Sustaining / Growing Faith Heb. 12:2 Jesus is the “perfecter of our faith”   Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything Sensational Faith Acts 6:5 … They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit… Acts 7:56 "Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God."
