    Prayer #1 God is Relational Jeremiah. 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Be specific when we pray! Pray consistently with God's Word / Will Matthew 6:10 “Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” James 4:2b-3 …You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. PRAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE Matthew 17:19-20 “…so little faith. Nothing will be impossible for you.” 1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us–whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of him. Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Prayer is a faith statement of what you believe. Prayer is a spiritual exercise Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Exceptions 1) When you don't know how to pray Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. Eph. 6:18a And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests… 2) The “if” clause Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” PRAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE, AND BELIEVE WHAT YOU PRAY! 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight. Genesis 15:6 Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. “God, I truly believe that it's your will for….so I ask in faith believing that you will do it in your timing.” Lord teach me to live my life by faith - trusting in you alone. Teach me to see life bigger/clearer than I have seen it before. Teach me to see what you see Lord & to pray your will for me and for others. I pray in Jesus name, Amen

    How to treat your Mother! 1. Mothers are to be Honored & Respected Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 21:15 “Anyone who attacks their father or mother is to be put to death. Exodus 21:17 “Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Leviticus 20:9 “Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death…their blood will be on their own head. Leviticus 18:7 “Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother... Deuteronomy 21:18-21 2. Mothers are to be Obeyed Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”–which is the first commandment with a promise Deuteronomy 5:16 “Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long {quantity} and that it may go well {quality} with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. 3. Mothers are to be Teachers Proverbs 1:8 Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. Prov. 6:20 … do not forsake your mother's teaching. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. 2 Timothy 1:5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. 2 Timothy 3:14-15 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 4. Mothers are to be cared for when they get old 1 Timothy 5:4-9 But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help… Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. Story: Mark 7:9-13 Corban (that is, devoted to God) Proverbs 10:1 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. Proverbs 15:20 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother. Proverbs 19:26 Whoever robs their father and drives out their mother is a child who brings shame and disgrace. Proverbs 23:22-25 Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old… The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful! Proverbs 29:15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother. **It will be worth all the hard work mom & dad!

Enjoy each season of life 1. Every season has a reason and a purpose 2. Every season is from God and is: Ecc. 3:9-11a A. Valuable (9) B. Beautiful…in it's time! C. Eternal in it's consequences (11b, 15 & 17) 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 3. We will never fully understand all that God is doing in this life (Ecc. 3:11c) Romans 11:33-36 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. 4. Each season is a gift from God to be enjoyed (Ecc. 3:12-13) 5. In human terms life is very pessimistic. ( Ecc. 3:16, 18-22) We should: A. Recognize what season of life we are in and live it to the Glory of God. B. Look for God's purpose for us in this season. C. Learn to be content where we are. Philippians 4:11-13 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
